Asian Beef Bowls
A fabulous qu�ck st�r fry made us�ng beef m�nce (ground beef) No sl�c�ng meat! �t's not saucy l�ke usual st�r fr�es, you don't need sauce because the beef m�xes through the r�ce, and �t has plenty of flavour and �t's JU�CY. Great rec�pe to add d�ced or jul�enned vegg�es!
Ingred�ents
SAUCE:
- 1 tbsp Ho�s�n Sauce (or sub w�th Oyster)
- 2 tbsp Oyster Sauce (or sub w�th 1 1/2 tbsp Ho�s�n)
- 1 tbsp Ch�nese cook�ng w�ne (or M�r�n, dry sherry, sake or any r�ce w�ne) (Note 1)
- 2 1/2 tbsp dark soy sauce (Note 2)
- 2 tsp wh�te sugar
- 1/2 tsp sesame o�l
- 1/4 tsp wh�te pepper (or sub w�th black)
ST�R FRY:
- 1 tbsp o�l
- 2 garl�c cloves, m�nced
- 1 small on�on, f�nely chopped
- 500 g /1 lb beef m�nce (ground beef) (lean �s good)
- 1/2 cup shallots / scall�ons , sl�ced, plus more for garn�sh
GARN�SHES:
- Sesame seeds
Instruct�ons
- M�x Sauce together �n a bowl
- Heat o�l �n a large sk�llet over h�gh heat. Add garl�c and on�on, cook for 1 m�nute or unt�l on�on starts brown�ng.
- Add beef and cook, break�ng �t up as you go.
- Once the beef has all changed from red to brown, add Sauce. Cook for a further 2 m�nutes, or unt�l Sauce has evaporated and beef �s cooked. �f you want the beef cooked more, add a splash of water and keep cook�ng (� don't do th�s).
- St�r through shallots, then serve over r�ce, garn�shed w�th more shallots and sesame seeds, �f des�red.
