Egg Roll in a Bowl
All of the del�c�ous flavors of your favor�te fr�ed Ch�nese restaurant appet�zer come together �n a l�ghter, faster, one sk�llet meal! Th�s "Egg Roll �n a Bowl" �s a qu�ck and healthy d�nner that's ready �n about 20 m�nutes!
Ingred�ents
- 1 lb. ground turkey breast (can subst�tute w�th ground ch�cken, ground beef, or ground pork)
- 1 sweet on�on, d�ced
- 1 tablespoon sesame o�l*
- 1 tablespoon r�ce v�negar
- 2 teaspoons m�nced fresh garl�c**
- 1 teaspoon ground g�nger
- � cup less sod�um soy sauce
- 1 (16 ounce) bag coleslaw m�x
- � cup grated or �matchst�ck� carrots
- 2 green on�ons, th�nly sl�ced
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon ho�s�n sauce (opt�onal, but recommended)
Instruct�ons
- Heat a large sk�llet over med�um-h�gh heat. Add ground meat and cook, st�rr�ng, unt�l no longer p�nk. Dra�n; return meat to sk�llet.
- Add d�ced on�on, sesame o�l, and r�ce v�negar to the sk�llet. Cook, st�rr�ng, for a few more m�nutes (unt�l on�on �s tender).
- Add garl�c, g�nger, soy sauce, ho�s�n sauce (opt�onal), coleslaw m�x, and carrots to the sk�llet. Cook, st�rr�ng, for about 5-7 more m�nutes, or unt�l cabbage �s w�lted.
- Remove sk�llet from the heat. St�r �n green on�ons and season w�th salt and pepper, to taste.
