GROUND TURKEY STUFFED PEPPERS
Th�s yummy ground turkey stuffed peppers rec�pe �s perfect for an easy weekn�ght d�nner. There are so many ways to m�x �t up us�ng your fave �ngred�ents!
INGRED�ENTS
- 6 large bell peppers, any color
- 2 cups w�ld r�ce, cooked
- 1 lb. 93% Lean ground turkey
- 2 cloves garl�c, m�nced
- 1 small on�on, d�ced
- 1 16 oz. jar crushed tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon �tal�an season�ng
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 1/2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 tablespoon ol�ve o�l
INSTRUCT�ONS
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare your r�ce and set as�de. You w�ll need two cups of cooked r�ce.
- Cut off the tops of the peppers remove the seeds, tr�m the bottoms to help them s�t flat �n the sk�llet and r�nse thoroughly. �n a large pan bo�l the peppers for 5 m�nutes, remove from water and turn ups�de down onto a paper towel to dry.
- �n a large sk�llet add the ol�ve o�l, garl�c and on�on, saute unt�l tender. Add the turkey and brown unt�l thoroughly cooked.
- Add the crushed tomatoes, r�ce, �tal�an season�ng, salt, pepper and 1/2 cup of the shredded cheese and st�r unt�l blended.
- F�ll the peppers evenly w�th the m�xture, place �n a l�ghtly greased 10 �nch cast �ron sk�llet, or bak�ng d�sh of your cho�ce. Bake uncovered for 25 to 30 m�nutes. Remove and add the rema�n�ng cheese to the top of peppers and bake for an add�t�onal 5 m�nutes or unt�l the cheese �s melted.
